Patient Newsletter September 2026
Investing in Better Care, Better Access and Better Facilities for Our Patients
Welcome from the Practice Team
Dear Patients,
Welcome to our September Newsletter.
As we move towards the autumn months, we would like to thank all our patients for their continued support, patience and kindness. The past few months have been a busy and exciting time for the practice as we continue to invest in improving our facilities, expand services and explore new ways to support your health and wellbeing. These ongoing developments are aimed at ensuring we continue to provide safe, effective and patient-centred care for our community.
This month, we are pleased to share updates on our practice improvement programme, new services available to patients and preparations for our annual flu vaccination campaign. We are also strengthening our Patient Participation Group and encourage anyone interested in helping shape the future of Parkview Surgery to consider getting involved.
Thank you for choosing Parkview Surgery.
Warm regards,
Mrs Suman Bahra
Business Practice Manager
Practice Improvement Update
We are continuing to invest in improving our surgery environment to provide a more comfortable, modern and accessible experience for our patients.
Over the coming months, patients will notice ongoing improvements to our reception area and clinical facilities as part of our wider practice development programme. These enhancements are designed to improve the patient journey, support our clinical teams and ensure the practice continues to meet the growing needs of our community.
We would like to thank patients for their patience whilst these improvements are underway.
📱 Introducing the getUBetter App
We are excited to support the introduction of the getUBetter app, a new NHS-approved digital self-management tool designed for patients with muscle, joint and back problems.
The app provides:
- Advice and guidance tailored to your condition
- Exercise programmes
- Recovery support
- Information designed to help you manage symptoms confidently at home
More information about accessing the app will be available soon through the practice.
🍂 Flu Vaccinations Arriving This September
Our annual flu vaccination programme will begin from September.
The flu vaccine is one of the best ways to protect yourself and those around you during the winter months.
Patients eligible for a free NHS flu vaccination are encouraged to book as soon as invitations are issued.
The vaccine is particularly important for:
- Adults aged 65 and over
- People with long-term health conditions
- Pregnant women
- Carers
- Eligible children and young people
- Frontline health and social care workers
We will contact eligible patients directly with further details about clinic dates and booking arrangements.
Preparing for Winter
As we approach winter, we encourage patients to:
✅ Order repeat prescriptions in plenty of time
✅ Attend annual reviews and chronic disease appointments
✅ Ensure the practice has your current mobile number and contact details
✅ Cancel appointments you no longer need so they can be offered to another patient
These simple actions help us provide timely care to everyone who needs it.
Join Our Patient Participation Group (PPG)
Have Your Say and Help Shape the Future of Parkview Surgery
We are currently looking for enthusiastic patients to join our Patient Participation Group (PPG).
The PPG is made up of patients who work alongside the practice to provide feedback, discuss ideas and help improve services for the wider patient community. We are actively strengthening the group and would love to hear from patients of all ages and backgrounds.
As a member of the PPG, you can:
- Share your views and experiences
- Help improve practice services
- Contribute ideas for future developments
- Support health promotion initiatives
- Represent the voice of local patients
Whether you can spare a little time or would like to become more involved, your contribution can make a real difference.
Interested?
Please speak to a member of our reception team, call the practice, or contact us through our website to find out more.
Your voice matters. Together we can help shape the future of healthcare at Parkview Surgery.
Thank You
We would like to thank all our patients for the kindness, patience and support you continue to show our team.
The positive feedback we receive and the support shown to staff during busy periods is greatly appreciated. We remain committed to providing the highest standard of care for our community and look forward to continuing to serve you in the months ahead.
